This is a large vintage purse / handbag featuring a handmade needlepoint exterior.  I believe that the purse dates to the 1940s.  The needlepoint is attached to a perforated ormolu brass frame with ornate clip clasp.  It has a chain handle and is lined in a black faille taffeta with two built-in pockets.  It measures 17” by 13”, exclusive of its chain handle - the handle has a “drop” of 7 3/4”.  It is in very good condition with no wear, tear or staining - this purse looks to have seen little use.   

This is a larger than usual example of one of these needlepoint purses - you could pack a lot of things into this purse!
